Younger Teaching The Elders
By Mark Flippo
Luke 2:
43-After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44-Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45-When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46-After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47-Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers.
His parents would be in trouble if they lived today. Losing your child for an entire day is bad. This was an exceptional case. Jesus was one with a great destiny. We all read about His life on earth on a regular basis. Being a parent is hard but can you imagine being a parent to Jesus? It must have been interesting and challenging at times.
What a wonderful reward. Some of you can understand when Jesus was crucified and He gave up His life, how hard it must have been for Mary's broken heart. Some of you, maybe your child has died early and you have had a broken heart that is hard to mend. You are understood and Jesus has compassion on you. His mother felt the same things you feel. Trust Him to heal your heart. He is our comforter!
