Favor with God and Man
By Marian J. Flippo
Proverbs 3:1-4 (KJV)
My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.
In our daily lives, we usually go about doing the tasks needed, fulfilling our obligations at work and home. Really….just living life. Not always thinking about reactions, outcomes, our feelings, but just trying to do our best in displaying the attributes of God (God working through us). At work I always try to treat my fellow workers as I would like to be treated. Putting them first and thinking of myself second. But being so human there are times when I succeed, but also many times that I failed.
That is why what has happened me the past month lets me know concerning having the favor of God and man. In this past month I have received 6-acknowledgements from fellow workers of their appreciation for the work that I am doing. Needless to say I was and still am overwhelmed at their kind and amazing words and realized that it was the FAVOR OF GOD, reaching out to humanity through me. I do not take this for granted but cherish it. Realizing that in my weaknesses, God uses one like me. May we all know and understand that living for God and trusting in Him, brings about not only the Favor of God, but the favor of man.
