Where Have All The Manners Gone?
By Mark Flippo
1 Corinthians 15:33 (ESV)
Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”
1 Corinthians 15:33 (MSG)
But don’t fool yourselves. ... “Bad company ruins good manners.”
Growing up using our manners was put upon us by our parents and enforced strongly. It did not kill us to say Please, Thank you, Excuse me. Yes sir, No sir, Yes ma'am and no ma'am. We opened doors for others. You waited your turn to talk. You simply did not interrupt people. It is not hard people! Our children are missing the kindness that manners brought. Work on yourself first and then work on your family. We can change the tide of horrible behavior. It must start with our hearts.
