Broken But Not Destroyed
By Mark Flippo
1 Peter 1: MSG
3-What a God we have! And how fortunate we are to have him, this Father of our Master Jesus! Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, 4-including a future in heaven - and the future starts now! 5-God is keeping careful watch over us and the future. The Day is coming when you'll have it all - life healed and whole. 6-I know how great this makes you feel, even though you have to put up with every kind of aggravation in the meantime.
Transforming from victim to Victor is a slow process at times. I really enjoyed how the Message Bible read in this portion. A day coming, life healed and whole! What is the difference between these two words. Healed means you no longer have that disease or ailment. Whole means any part of you that is missing will be restored to you. Missing an arm because of a car accident? You will gain it back when you go to be,
with the Lord Jesus! Military people, have you been injured overseas in battle defending our way and beliefs? Limbs blown off. You get everything back but better than you had before. Diabetics, have you lost toes because you did not take care of your diabetes good enough? Guess what you get back the little piggy that went to market and the little piggy that stayed home. (Nursery rhyme.) Complete and whole. Can you shout about that? If you are a True Christian, you can! Hallelujah!
