Silence Though In Pain
By Mark Flippo
Revelation 21:4 NIV
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.”
1 Peter 4:12-13 NIV
Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.
This lesson I know something about. I have had so much pain that many could not have lived with. You are special if the Lord let's you deal with extreme pain. Are you doing it with Grace or are you bitter? Can you keep a gentle spirit and not lash out at others? My wife reminds me when I come across a little sharp in talking to her.
It is not meant to be unkind, it just comes across rougher when you are gritting your teeth. People that have chronic and severe pain have to try harder to be pleasant!
The LORD sees your efforts to be kind to others when it takes everything you have just to smile all the time but I have learned that my happiness it not determined by what I am suffering with. I do not blame God anymore. I used to. He has helped me to mature and handle the hard cross with Grace and Kindness. Now I may slip from time to time but for the most part my pastor can tell you she knows when I am in pain even though I hide it behind a smile.
If you let our Father teach you how Jesus did His time on earth with such great pain but with great Grace! He suffered! Consider yourself blessed if He has trusted you to carry pain like He did!
