Walking With God
By Marian Flippo
Genesis 5: (MSG)
21-When Enoch was sixty-five years old, he had Methuselah. 22-Enoch walked steadily with God. After he had Methuselah, he lived another 300 years, having more sons and daughters. 23-Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24-Enoch walked steadily with God. And then one day he was simply gone: God took him.
Did you know there are 23,145 verses in the Old Testament and 7,957 verses in the New Testament? This gives a total of 31,102 verses in the Bible. And it is funny how these 4 verses concerning Enoch stood out so plainly.
Enoch learned a great lesson in his life of the genuine joy of walking with God to the fullest degree. God was so impressed by Enoch that He made an example of him to all of us. How!!! By taking him, he was simply gone. What a friend of God he was! He had continually walked with God all his life....24/7/365.
Not only that, God did not send an Angel to get Enoch. God did not let anyone else take this pleasure from Him. Enoch was His friend and received this great privilege. God took Him.
So the Power of Walking with God brings us many benefits such as healing, salvation, and so on. Which is wonderful but the scripture shows us that we can have that same close relationship that Enoch had. Lord, help us all to walk with you with such sincere and intense conviction. Knowing that this (walking with you) is the joy unspeakable and full of glory road. But most important part is we get to walk it with our friend!
