Who Am I?
By Mark Flippo
Romans 9: (MSG)
18-All we're saying is that God has the first word, initiating the action in which we play our part for good or ill. 19-Are you going to object, "So how can God blame us for anything since he's in charge of everything? If the big decisions are already made, what say do we have in it?" 20-Who in the world do you think you are to second-guess God? Do you for one moment suppose any of us knows enough to call God into question?
Clay doesn't talk back to the fingers that mold it, saying, "Why did you shape me like this?" 21-Isn't it obvious that a potter has a perfect right to shape one lump of clay into a vase for holding flowers and another into a pot for cooking beans? 22-If God needs one style of pottery especially designed to show his angry displeasure 23-and another style carefully crafted to show his glorious goodness, isn't that all right?
In this set of scriptures God sets us straight! When I finished reading it, I just responded with Yikes! Boy did He set us straight on ever questioning His forming of who we are! How many times have I heard WHY from someone. He just gave you the answer to all of your questions of why your body looks like it does. I watch a show on TV about bizarre body quirks.
I just feel so much compassion on those people that it highlights. It is simply amazing how they adapt to life with there disfigurements. They learn how to get around. They can be very talented. They push themselves to accomplish great things. They put us that have all of our fingers and toes and faces so normal, that do not have deformities to shame! Many of us are blessed beyond words. Make time today and Thank our Heavenly Father that He has made us just what He wants us to be. We are perfect in His sight no matter what others think!
