Spreading The Gospel
By Mark Flippo
1 Peter 3:15-16 - But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:....
Titus 3:9 - But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain.
Debates use to be a big thing in Christianity. It did not take long after listening to them that I found out they are a waste of time! At the end no one changed their mind from what it was at the beginning. It was also funny that each side felt like they won the debate! Anyone remember them? Some attitudes got a little stinky during those heated debates!
One thing for sure everyone needed to repent after those things were over! Sharing the Gospel is different if you have the right attitude. If asked, present what you understand and let them chew on that for a while. Same thing for you, if you share you should let them share also.
Then pray about what has been given you. We believed one way for many years with the scripture to back it up. However we have since found out that our understanding of the scriptures was a little off. So we have adjusted our understanding to match the Truth! Sometimes a little humble pie is good for you!
