Are You A Good Neighbor?
By Mark Flippo
Proverbs 3:29 - Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee.
Proverbs 25:17-18 - Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and [so] hate thee.
Mark 12:31 - And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
James 2:8 - If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
With all of the hateful attitudes that many neighbors have against each other, they must not be Christians. The scriptures are plain on this matter. You are to treat everyone right. Your neighbors can be a blessing to you. We have some wonderful
people on all sides of us. This couple that live directly behind us will help us in the summer and winter. When we have problems with my mower they mow strips of grass for our dog to go on.
In the winter last year, they have a date night each Friday and before they went one time they came and shoveled our drive for us. God Bless them many times over! How do you act towards your next door people? Do you show kindness? Do you care when they are sick or injured? Can they see Christ in you the Hope of Glory? Let your light so shine that all men will see God!
