What Do You Do As A Family?
By Mark Flippo
Joshua 24:15
"...... But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord." (NLT)
Psalm 103:17-18
But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children—with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts. (NIV)
Psalm 127:3-5
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior's hands. ......
Do you have a healthy family life? Do you only see each other in passing? Do your kids keep you running from one event to another? Do you even get to eat a meal together? Is there a family game night? Do you attend service together at least once a week? Where are the priorities in your group? Do you feel like your losing touch with each other? I really understand. At times I would like to have a do over with my family. So many mistakes.
What was done is final. I hope if you are still having children at home you try your hardest to make a strong family unit! Make sure and put Jesus first in your life. Just do not let your children feel left out. Don't let them think they are not as important as attending service. Remind them how much you Love them. That time is limited.
They get to be teenagers and they do not want to talk about it as much. They rebel against your authority. It does not mean that they no longer Love you. You just need to guide them and pray even more for them. Girls give their mother's fits. Boys butt heads with their fathers. That is just the way it is. Love them no matter what bonehead things they do. Jesus gave them to you because you needed each other to grow in Him!
