Totally Gross

2 Timothy 3:
16-Every scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17-that the person dedicated to God may be capable and equipped for every good work.
You can read about this story in Judges 3:5-31.
Here are some of the critical details provided in our text which are like the pieces of a puzzle; we need to figure out where each piece fits, and then take a good look at the resulting picture. Crucial details would include Eglon's girth, his naïve actions (sending out his servants/security), and allowing Ehud to be alone with him. Other important details would include the twice-mentioned carved idols outside the city, the design of the palace with its “cool room,” Ehud’s left-handedness and his dagger, and the location of the palace near the Jordan.
This does not seem like it should be in the Bible but it is. Anything that you read in scripture is important. God has a purpose even though we may not understand it at this time.
He will open it up to someone that needs it when the time is right.
This is a lesson not about being grossly overweight but about his whole attitude was wrong and cost him his life! The above paragraph explains his weaknesses. We must be diligent in all we do and say. I do not want my epitaph to compare me to that king Eglon. Keep your body in good heath by eating right and some exercise would not hurt. Then we need to keep our minds sharp and focused on God. He will warn us when something is not right.
