The Simplicity Of The Gospel
By Mark Flippo
1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (MSG)
You’ll remember, friends, that when I first came to you to let you in on God’s master stroke, I didn’t try to impress you with polished speeches and the latest philosophy. I deliberately kept it plain and simple: first Jesus and who he is; then Jesus and what he did—Jesus crucified.
I am so glad that Jesus saw fit to make scripture simple. It was written by inspiration of the Holy Ghost. Even a person without a college degree can understand the simple Truths stored within these Holy pages. So many scholars claim to have the whole truth but do they? They want to read into His Word what fits their beliefs and not the other way around. Salvation is simple. Repentance, Baptism in His name, and Receiving His Spirit inside of you with evidence of speaking in a special prayer language. Many question what should be said over you when you are baptised.
Colossians 3:17 KJV
And whatever you do, in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
To me, I am a simple person and it sounds like He wants baptism done in His name as well as healing and delivering. Why do some people pronounce Jesus name over those they are praying for but refuse to use His name in baptism?
