Christians And Dementia
By Mark Flippo
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
If you have a family member or friend that is showing signs of Dementia or Alzheimer's, you really need this verse. It is easy to forget that Jesus will help even in situations that seems hopeless! Nothing is ever hopeless when my Savior is present with you. I have known a Godly woman that would never swear in her right mind before Dementia set in. After that she swore like a sailor. God knew her heart even though it sounded like she was not saved. Family trust that God forgives even if the person is in a wrong state of mind.
That is true of impaired people also. Stop judging and pray to get your mindset right before God! Thank you, Jesus that I am not perfect, but I am working on it! How about you?
