Have You Eaten Your Manna Today?
By Mark Flippo
Exodus 16:31
The house of Israel named it manna, and it was like coriander seed, white, and its taste was like wafers with honey.
Matthew 6:
9-With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this: Our Father in heaven, Reveal who you are. 10-Set the world right; Do what's best - as above, so below. 11-Keep us alive with three square meals. 12-Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. 13-Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil. You're in charge! You can do anything you want! You're ablaze in beauty!
This is the Message Bibles interpretation of The Lord's Prayer. I have found that the way they word scripture is often a help in my understanding. Be careful of different interpretations of the Bible. Their way of explaining things can be way off the mark. Any reading must be done with soul searching and prayer. These scriptures showed us that in the Old Testament we had a physical example of what became a spiritual practice today. We need our daily manna. Tread lightly before God that He will reward you openly with your understanding being clear!
Scripture does not specify what manna is made from, but describes it as a white, sweet food that looked like coriander seeds, was like wafers with honey, and could be ground into flour or baked into cakes. While modern substances like honeydew from tamarix trees or certain lichens are suggested as possible natural counterparts, none perfectly match all the biblical descriptions, such as falling daily for 40 years or not rotting when stored overnight, leading many to believe it was a miraculous substance.
