Reaching Out To God
By Mark Flippo
Job 11:13-20 (MSG)
“Still, if you set your heart on God and reach out to him,
If you scrub your hands of sin and refuse to entertain evil in your home,
You’ll be able to face the world unashamed and keep a firm grip on life, guiltless and fearless. You’ll forget your troubles; they’ll be like old, faded photographs.
Your world will be washed in sunshine, every shadow dispersed by dayspring.
Full of hope, you’ll relax, confident again; you’ll look around, sit back, and take it easy. Expansive, without a care in the world, you’ll be hunted out by many for your blessing. But the wicked will see none of this. They’re headed down a dead-end road with nothing to look forward to—nothing.”
There will come times in your life that you become desperate and feel like you are in critical need of help. It can happen more than once. Those times you want to just scream out for someone to hear. You feel like you're going to choke if you can not get some breathing room in your life. Those times require you to do some kneeling in long dedicated prayer. You must put your whole self into your praying. Pray scriptures. Ask others to pray with you. If you are truly desperate you will fast and pray. Push away food and you will desire God's Spirit more. He will answer when you give yourself time of dedication to our Heavenly Father!
