The Compassion Of Children
By Mark Flippo
Psalm 8:2 (NIV)
Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.
Matthew 18: (NIV)
2-He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. 3-And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. 4-Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5-And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
This sweet child is wiping away a tear from the character on the TV. That is what the little angels do. They have compassion on others. I have seen one child go over to another to comfort them when they are sad. Have you? That is how Jesus wants us grownups to be like. We need to set aside all that keeps us from being unkind to people. We need to have enough Love that we care for others. It is a great reward in itself. Learn to give unselfishly and you will gain more than you give. I have volunteered before and enjoyed it greatly. Give a little of your time and help your city to be better because of your kindness.
