It's Just A Half Lie!
By Mark Flippo
Good old Abram had a little trouble telling the Truth at times.
Genesis 20:
11-Abraham said, "Because I thought, surely there is no fear of God in this place, and they will kill me because of my wife. 12-"Besides, she actually is my sister, the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother, and she became my wife; 13-and it came about, when God caused me to wander from my father's house, that I said to her, 'This is the kindness which you will show to me: everywhere we go, say of me, "He is my brother."'"…
So many great things are said about Abraham. This was a very flawed man. We sometimes think we are not good enough to do anything worthwhile. Abram was proof that God will use anyone He chooses. He lied to protect himself for fear he would be killed if the man in power knew she was his wife. To save his own skin he lied twice.
Now look at yourself in the mirror! What do you see?
You see your sins and what else? If you see a Child of God who wants to do great things but seem to lack the power you are in the right mindset. Admit you are weak without Him. Talk to your Father in Heaven and ask Him to make you into the man or woman of God that He can use the most. He may have to humble you. He may want to build up your confidence. However He chooses you will be stronger and more confident than ever before. He can raise you up or bring you down. Just make sure your prayer life is strong in the Holy Ghost. Let Him work a Miracle in your life!
