The River Runs Both Ways
By Mark Flippo
Ezekiel 47:3-5 (MSG)
He walked to the east with a measuring tape and measured off fifteen hundred feet, leading me through water that was ankle-deep. He measured off another fifteen hundred feet, leading me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another fifteen hundred feet, leading me through water waist-deep. He measured off another fifteen hundred feet. By now it was a river over my head, water to swim in, water no one could possibly walk through.
This is a beautiful lesson. Part one is as you grow with Jesus, you choose how far you get into the river of His Spirit. You can be a shallow Christian. You can be all in. The deeper you move into the flow of His Spirit the more resistance will come against you. It is not for the faint of heart. Jesus will help you every step of the way.
Part two
From the other perspective, you can be a mighty boulder which the hard times round off your rough edges. Both ways deal with how the enemy of your soul will try to lead you astray. All of the hard times serve to make you a more well rounded person in God's kingdom. Let our Wonderful Savior be your guide on this journey to live with our Father. Let us bring as many souls to Him so they can be with Him also. With everything going on at the I should be very discouraged. time
