Gentile Giants
By Mark Flippo
Robert Pershing Wadlow (February 22, 1918 – July 15, 1940), also known as the Alton Giant and the Giant of Illinois, was an American man. He is the tallest person in recorded history for whom there is irrefutable evidence. Wadlow was born and raised in Alton, Illinois, a small city near St. Louis, Missouri.
Wadlow's height was 8 ft 11.1 in while his weight reached 439 lb (199 kg) at his death at age 22. His great size and his continued growth in adulthood were due to hypertrophy of his pituitary gland, which results in an abnormally high level of human growth hormone.
I have known a few of these larger than normal men in my time. They are most often the kindest and gentlest souls you could meet. It is the little men who have the biggest mouths on them. Always picking a fight to prove something.
Galatians 5:22-23: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law".
Ephesians 4:2: "Always be humble and gentle".
Now these are the gifts I prefer in my life! Anyone is a better Christian with this kind of motivation guiding them! Is this the way you want to behave to show others that Jesus lives inside if you? I hope the answer if AMEN! Jesus, guide, us into all Truth! I Love you my Savior! Mark
